An amazing moment is set in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital as Offot Ukwa Clan is set to open its arts and cultural storehouse to offer the city a feast of arts and cultural splendour.
The event is hoped to begin with the official unveiling of the Festival Logo this Saturday at Ibom Plaza, a popular recreational centre in Uyo.
According to the chairman of Central Planning Committee, Elder Patrick Albert, the unveiling event will also witness the birth of the Offot Ukwa Unity Mass Choir and presentation of unique regalia for Offot Ukwa Clan.
Other highlights at the carnival will include, music, dance, plays, pageantry, arts and recreational games (traditional and modern sports).
Albert, in a statement made available to New Nigerian in Uyo on Wednesday, said that the Saturday’s event is planned to herald the third edition of Offot Ukwa Festival of Arts and Culture, due later in the year.
Expected to be entertaining, memorable and joyful, the Clan Head of Offot Ukwa/Paramount Ruler of Uyo Local Government Area, HRM Edidem Sylvanus Effiong Okon will be the chief host while the chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, Dr Uwemedimo Udo will chair the event.
