Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State on Wednesday, broke down in tears and wept at the burial of the late Yobe State Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Alhaji Bukar Goni Lawan, who was involved in a motor ghastly accident along Damaturu-Kano highway on Tuesday.
The deceased was said to have accompanied the Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni to a funeral prayer and departed by road to Kano, while the governor and his aides departed for Maiduguri International Airport from Damaturu only to be truncated and saddened by the sad news of the sudden death of his cabinet member who is also a good friend and ally of the governor, decided to cut his Abuja trip short to return to Damaturu for the burial.
While leading some top government delegation to the residence of the deceased on Wednesday morning for the funeral prayers of the late Commissioner of Youth and Sports and political ally, Bukar Goni Lawan, Governor Buni who could not hide his feelings and emotion, broke down in tears.
Gov. Buni and the deceased had a long-standing relationship and he appointed him Commissioner of Youth and Sports after he was elected Governor of Yobe State.
