Katsina State Police Command has thwarted a kidnapping attempt and rescued a 40-year old, Tukur Adamu of Masaku village in Kankara Local Government Area
of the State.
A statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu yesterday, said the incident happened on November 4, 2023 at about 1300 hours during a routine patrol.
He said on reaching Masaku village’s outskirts, the command’s operatives encountered a distressing kidnapping situation with the victim in a perilous situation.
He said without hesitation,
the Police officers responded promptly and decisively to the situation, effectively neutralising the threat and rescued the victim.
The victim, PPRO Sadiq explained who sustained a gunshot injury to his left thigh, was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention and currently responding well to treatment.
He said the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, while commending the officers for an exceptional display of gallantry, reemphasized the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the people of Katsina.
CP Abubakar Musa assured that, the Command would continue to work diligently to ensure crime has been brought to the barest minimum in the state.
He urged “anyone with useful information related to this incident or any other criminal activity to come forward and assist in the ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the state.”
