Katsina State Chapter of the Nigeria council of Ulama has affirmed two million one hundred thousand Naira as zakkat nisab for the 1445 AH Islamic year.
This is in addition to thirty one thousand five hundred Naira as minimum sum to be given out as dourey.
A statement issued by the secretary general of the council, Shehu Abubakar Adoro, said compensation for death otherwise called “Diyyah” now stands at one hundred and twenty six million Naira.
It said the dourey, compensation for death and zakkat nisab were arrived at based on the the current value of Dirham not Dinar as the case with other nations.
