Ife South: Ikija Ward 2 Win Sidikatu Akinbami Memorial Cup

Ikija Ward  2 have won the 2017 edition of the Sidikatu Akinbami Memorial Cup by beating Aare Ward 1-0  at the weekend.
The only goal of the match came through the boots of Adeoti Martins In the 28th minute of the match in Ife South Local Government of Osun State.
The third placed match saw Ayesan Ward walking over Ikija Ward 1 to win the bronze medal.
The tournament was organized by Sidikatu Akinbami Foundation.
The  occasion was graced by Osun United coach Olapade Waheed, who spotted three players, Kehinde Egbaibon, Muyiwa Ogundoju, Adeoti Martins.
The foundation also recognized and  gave awards to two sons of Ifetedo, Ife South Local Government Area to appreciate their contributions to the local government and Nigeria at large in different spheres of lives.
The late chairman, Adekunle  Odewale was awarded for his immense contributions towards the development of the local government, while Prince Adesigbin was recognized for his literal work which is being used widely in most South West schools in Nigeria.
The chief organizer of the event,  Vincent Akinbami, said the event was organized to bring about peace and unity in the local government.

“It is also meant to scout for talents and recognized those who have contributed immensely to the growth of the local government,” he added.
Akinbami added that  the tournament is also aimed at exposing hidden talents in the grassroots.
