Former Green Eagles, now Super Eagles Coach, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde on Wednesday hinted that Nigeria can win Senior World cup if the country can get it right in football administration.
Chief Onigbinde dropped this hint in Ibadan while speaking at Oyo Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) summit held at Wallan hotel.
He declared that Nigeria is blessed with the needed football stars which abound across the country if carefully searched and properly harnessed.
Chief Onigbinde emphasized the importance of the urgent need for the development of sport in Nigeria to enable the country regained its glory in sports and football in particular.
The former Green Eagles handlers pointed out that the time has come for Nigeria to concentrate on developing its sports before contemplating on going for competitions.
He stressed that it was only when you develop sports that the issue of going for competition should come in.
Chief Onigbinde however urged sports writers in the country to continue to devote more time for the development of sports in Nigeria.
In his contribution,a former Green Eagles player, Dr Felix Owolabi said more attention should be accorded sports development in Oyo state and Nigeria in general.
