Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare has redeemed his pledge of N200,000 for the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State Chapter.
This was made known by the Oyo SWAN Chairman, Alhaji Niyi Alebiosu in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan
According to the Oyo SWAN Chairman, the money the Minister promised ” to give Oyo SWAN while speaking at the final of Oyo SWAN Cup last December has since been deposited into the association’s account for accountability.”
Comrade Alebiosu in the statement, stressed that the money will be distributed as prizes among the champions, runners up and third placed competitors of the football and table tennis competitions held during the last SWAN Week.
The prizes will be presented to the beneficiaries at the 2022 Oyo SWAN Ramadan Lecture coming up on the 19th of April 2022 at the NUJ Press Centre.
Those to receive their prizes on the day are the five a side football competition champions (BCOS), its runners up (Agidigbo) and the third placed team (King FM).
Others are the Table Tennis Competition Champion (Sola Oladapo) and the two runners up of the competition.
