A paramount traditional title holder, the Shetiman Bauchi, Alhaji Inuwa Bello has expressed optimism that the federal government would hasten facilitation for the commencement of oil and gas drilling at the Kolmani River 1 and 11 in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State before the exit of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in the country.

Alhaji Inuwa Bello told the press in Bauchi on Monday that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and other major stakeholders in the sector are working round the clock to ensure that drilling of the black gold commence in earnest to boost economic activities and conserve Growth Domestic Product (GDP) for the nation.

“Looking into the current supply of drilling equipment and other necessary tools by major stakeholders to the Barambu, Benue Trough of the Gongola Basin where gas and oil were discovered in commercial quantities, the stage is almost being set for the exploration of the commodities”, Bello said.

Alhaji Bello, simply called AIB, commended the Buhari –led administration in ensuring that oil exploration become a reality, which hitherto abandoned in 1999 under the Obasanjo administration for mere political reason that the Kolmani River 1 gas found was not in commercial quantity.

He called for continued prayers from all and sundry to enable Nigerians generally rip the benefits of the Bauchi oil find, describing the feat as unprecedented in the history of oil exploration in the country.

On the aspiration of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to the presidential seat come 2023 polls, AIB described the governor as the most suitable person to occupy the Aso Rock Villa at this critical period of insecurity challenges and social malevolence, saying his leadership will usher in new Nigeria of our dreams.

Bello also expressed confidence that the political alignment and realignment between the presidential aspirants under the PDP would favour Governor Bala Mohammed to fly the party’s presidential flag in the 2023 general elections.
