*it is amusing they address  me as former governor
By; MKPUMA ENYINNA, Abakaliki

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has said that he knows those who don’t wish him well, saying that it is amusing for people to address him as former governor, because of the outcome of the Federal High Court even when he is sitting very tight, discharging  duty as a governor.
Umahi made the assertion in Abakaliki during a special Thanksgiving service to celebrate the Appeal Court victory at new Government House, Abakaliki, saying that the challenges he is facing have promoted him to another level and he bears  no grudges against those fighting for his removal from office, stating that he is sitting very well.
According to the governor, it is amusing that people who have never been councilors would be calling him a former governor.
“The important thing however, is that there is still governor inside the former governor they call me.
“They see a very tough governor who is sitting very well on his seat and still call him a former governor.
“I am aware of those who don’t wish me well and if everyone wishes you well, what will you be praying for.
“I am presently a consultant in conflict resolution and any one God leads through obstacles should not look back.
It would be recalled that the Federal High Court presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo, sacked Umahi and his Deputy, Kelechi Igwe, ordering them to vacate their office for defecting from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Umahi, however, appealed the judgment, and on April 1, the Appeal Court sitting in Enugu affirmed  Ebonyi High Court judgment that the governor did not go contrary to provisions of the law by defecting to another political party.
