Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has announced  a N10m bounty for any person or group that will provide valuable information that will lead to the apprehension of killers of his lawmaker, Honourable Okechukwu Okoye.
The lawmaker who represented the governor’s Aguata 2 constituency was kidnapped on Sunday, May 15, 2022 while returning from a village meeting in the company of his aide, Cyril Chiegboka.

In a statement signed by the governor’s Press Secretary, Mr Christian Aburime and made available to journalists on Saturday night, the governor placed a N10m bounty on the killers of the lawmaker.
Soludo said, “I received with shock and deep sadness the news of the gruesome murder of Hon. Okechukwu Okoye, a member representing Aguata II Constituency at the State House of Assembly and his aide, Cyril Chiegboka.
“Both Hon Okoye and Cyril Chiegboka were kidnapped on the road on Sunday May 15th, 2022.
“I condole with his kinsmen, Isuofia. It is probably the same criminal gang that attacked me and killed three policemen at Isuofia two years ago that is once again on the prowl.”
The governor vowed that the perpetrators and all the criminals gangs operating in Anambra State must be decisively dealt with and brought to book.
He reassured Anambra residents of the government’s resolve and renewed determination with the security agencies to go all out against the criminals and ensure they are brought to justice.
