Nigerian workers have been urged to collaborate with government to promote fair labour practices, safe working conditions, and equal opportunities for all.
They were also charged to strive in building a nation where every worker is valued, respected, and compensated fairly for their labour.
A Lagos Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Dr. Adedayo Adesola Samuel (Jim Sam), representing Apapa Federal Constituency at the Green Chambers made the call in his goodwill message to commemorate the Workers Day celebration.
In the message personally signed by him, made available to our correspondent in Lagos, the parliamentarian lauded the efforts of Nigerian workers, saying their labour is the backbone of the nation’s progress.
He therefore urged them to continue to work together with government to promote fair labour practices , safe working conditions and equal opportunities for all.
The message titled “Happy Worker’s Day from my office as an honourable member of the House of Representatives!”, reads, “Today , we celebrate the contributions and hard work of workers across our great nation. We recognize the dedication, perseverance, and commitment that you bring to your jobs every day.
” As a representative of the good people of Apapa Federal Constituency, I am proud to acknowledge the vital role that workers play in building our economy, our communities, and our society as a whole. Your labour is the backbone of our nation’s progress, and we are grateful for your tireless efforts.
” Let us continue to work together to promote fair labour practices, safe working conditions, and equal opportunities for all. Let us strive to build a nation where every worker is valued, respected, and compensated fairly for their labour.
” Once again, Happy Worker’s Day! May your day be filled with joy, rest, and celebration.”
