Ramadan: Maradi Women’s Association  Niger Republic, Supports 300 Orphans, Others With Foodstuff

The Maradi Women’s Association in Niger Republic has provided essential food supplies to over 300 orphans and needy individuals in Maradi State, including rice, sugar and cooking oil, to assist them during the holy month of Ramadan.

Formally known as the “Association Islamique Rayuwar Mata,” led by Hajiya Khadija Aboubakar, the organisation was established with support from the Zakkat Foundation of America.

Speaking at the distribution ceremony on Saturday, Hajiya Khadija Aboubakar emphasised that this gesture is an annual event facilitated by the American Zakkat Foundation.

“We receive annual support from NGOS the Zakat Foundation of America contributions from the  America, which we distribute to the needy, particularly the parents of orphans, divorced individuals, and the impoverished.

“However, we are committed to ensuring proper distribution to fulfill the intended purpose of the support.

“In addition to this commitment, we also provide food for breakfast during Ramadan in hospitals and disability homes, 100 Almajiri Iftar daily, sallah clothes as well as scholarships for orphans,” she explained.

Hajiya Khadija Aboubakar encouraged the beneficiaries to pray for the donors, their country, and the global Muslim community to succeed in their endeavors.

Inspector General of Police Issoufou Mamane, the Governor of Maradi State, expressed appreciation for the association’s dedication to supporting the needy across the state.

He commended the leadership of the association for their honesty and commitment to transparent organization.

Several of the orphan beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing its significant impact on their living conditions, particularly amidst the current economic challenges.
