Two suspected armed robbers have with arrested by police detectives in Lagos, with four locally made guns, five live cartridges, ammunition, four expended cartridges recovered from them.
Other exhibits, which include two Nokia, one Itel and one Tecno phones, one jack knife, six ATM cards, three wrist watches, three female handbags and the sum of N50,000 believed to have been robbed from their victims were also recovered from them.
Also one Toyota Corolla saloon car and one Toyota Camry saloon car were equally recovered from the hoodlums.
Our correspondent gathered that the suspected robbers were apprehended by police operatives attached to Agbado Division during a robbery attack at a hotel located along AIT road, in Alagbado area of the state.
It was learnt that the incident occurred at about 3:00 am on Monday, while the police operatives were on residential patrol of the area.
Following a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer of the station was said to have swiftly mobilised the team to the scene, where they engaged and subdued the hoodlums.
The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command SP Benjamin Hundeyin while confirming the arrest, said the nabbed robbers were members of a 9-man gang.
He added that they had shot and injured two lodgers in the hotel before the arrival of the cops at the scene.
” Preliminary investigation revealed the gang of armed robbers were nine in number, who came from Agbara.
” The victims injured by the robbers have been taken to hospital and are receiving treatment.
“Investigation is ongoing to apprehend the other members of the gang”, Hundeyin stated.
