*thousands decamp from APC to PDP

The venue of the gubernatorial campaign flag-off and zonal rally of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in the Northern Senatorial Zone of Plateau State, witnessed a massive turnout of enthusiastic supporters and stakeholders, who came in their numbers tomorrow witness the official commencement of campaigns in the zone.
The event which attracted distinguished leaders of the party in the state, also had in attendance, the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming elections, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, BCM, in company of his running mate, Hon. Josephine Piyo.
High point of the occasion was the endorsement of the governorship candidate and subsequent presentation to the people of the six local government areas that make up the zone, by His Excellency, Senator Jonah David Jang, a former Governor of Plateau State.
Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, while addressing the mammoth crowd, thanked the people of Northern Plateau for their unflinching support to the PDP, describing them as the umbilical cord that sustains the party.
He also welcomed the thousands of decampees who returned home to the PDP from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties.
He welcomed those from Jos North LGA, qualifying their return as a sign of better fortunes for the PDP in their locality. Prominent among them was a former Minister of State for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande.
The flag-off featured presentation of flags to the party’s candidates in the northern zone, and a unique session of solemn pledge by all in attendance to vote the PDP from “top to bottom” in the 2023 elections, for the love of Plateau State, and to deliver it from the suffering and calamity of the APC.
Earlier, the gubernatorial flag bearer visited the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, His Royal Majesty, Daa Jacob Gyang Buba, CFR, at his palace, where he received royal blessings before proceeding to Langfield.
Barkin-Ladi, Riyom, Jos South, Jos North, Jos East, and Bassa, are the local government areas that make up the Northern Senatorial Zone of Plateau State.
