Nasarawa State Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Mr Yakubu Kwanta, has tasked timber contractors to support the efforts of the government by paying their annual registration fees to the state promptly.

Kwanta gave the charge during a meeting with timber contractors at his office in Lafia on Monday.

He said the Governor Sule-led administration has put in place policies that are in the public domain for ease of doing business, therefore, the elimination of constraints and ignorance of duties and obligations in the business environment.

The commissioner admonished them to ensure that only hammered timber products are sold in the market in support of the state forestry policy.

Responding, Chairman of Timber Contractors in Nasarawa State, Mr. Felix Kassam thanked the commissioner for his open-door policy and assured of their compliance with all laid down rules and regulations in doing business.
