Makarfi, el-Rufai, Uba Sani, Ashiru,  Ekene,  Others Bag NLA Awards

The Executive Governor of Kaduna state, Malam Nasir el-Rufai and the state’s Governor-elect Senator Uba Sani have bagged Nigerian Leadership Award (NLA) 12th edition.

Privileged Magazine and Communications Nigeria Limited, conferred on Governor el-Rufai the award in Kaduna at the weekend as Infrastructural Man of the Year, Uba Sani as NLA Political Champion of the Year, alongside Member-elect for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams as Political Gladiator in the area of Human and Societal Development.

Others who bagged the prestigious award include,  a former Governor of Kaduna State, Mohammed Ahmed Makarfi, gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Rt. Hon. Isah Ashiru Kudan, NLA Female Politician of the Year, Hon. Murjanatu Suleiman Shika, among others.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer, Privileged Magazine and Communications Nigeria Limited, Hon. Victor Matthew Bobai, said the award aims to encourage leaders who have contributed their quota to both human and national development.

Bobai said that the awardees were carefully selected based on their track records from the various areas of specialisation after which an online voting was conducted and winners emerged.

He stressed that the firm discovered that the achievers have been doing a lot of things unnoticed and that triggered them to bring them to the notice of the public so that their efforts can be widely celebrated.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, ex Governor Makarfi said he is delighted to emerge NLA Man of the year.

Makarfi who was represented by Comrade Faisal Ahmed, said the former governor cherishes the award because this is the only way those who made indelible marks can be recognized.

In the same vein, the Female Politician of the Year, Hon. Murjanatu Suleiman Shika, said she felt honoured, by the award.

Murjanatu disclosed that the award is for all women making contributions to nation building in whatever capacity especially those in the world of politics.

She said, “I feel great, I feel honoured and I am encouraged that someone is watching what am doing and that’s quite appealing.

“This award as best Female Politician of the year is to all women out there. It also mean to the female counterparts that you can do it in the most decent ways possible and you can also make your achievements count. 

“So am equally so happy with it. What I have always done, i will keep pushing for the voice of the females and keep making our voices count and keep making sure that whatever we stand for is achieved.

She also said   that the APC government in Kaduna State has given women the opportunity to thrive in politics, urged the incoming administration to carry women along for all inclusiveness.
