Law Maker Awards 123 Students Scholarship, Construct Classrooms

A member representing Gassol II constituency in Taraba State House of Assembly, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim Naawe has offered scholarship to 123 students studying in tertiary institutions.
The member gave between N35 to N45, 000 as scholarship to  the 123 students from his constituency currently studying at various institutions of high learning.
Naawe while presenting cash to the students in Mutum Biyu at the weekend, said that he introduced the scholarship to encourage students in his constituency to obtain high educational qualification.
He stated that his constituency was backward in western education and therefore stressed the need to assist those with zeal to obtain high qualification.
He said students who secured admission from tertiary institutions but could not afford to pay their registration fee would also be assisted.
Alhaji Naawe also constructed blocks of classrooms in some primary schools across the constituency in his effort to boost enrollment.
The member also called on politicians and wealthy individuals in his constituency to give financial assistance to children from poor families to enable them obtain high qualification.
“Our society will only witness the desired development if the young ones are encouraged to go to school” the member said.
Naawe stated that politics should be about service to the community and therefore pledged to continue to provide the basic needs of the people he was representing.
He advised the students to use the money given to them for their academic program adding that he will always come to their aid regarding their studies when the needs arise.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, a student from school of Nursing Jalingo, Mallam Ismail Abdukarim commended the member for introducing the scheme.
