Katsina Police Kills 2 Bandits, Recovers Arm, Ammunition

Katsina State Police Command has neutralized two bandits and recovered one AK 47 rifle with three rounds of live ammunition.
This was revealed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police (SP), Gambo Isah while displaying the dead bodies of the terrorists at the headquarters of the Command in Katsina.
According to him, the command  received a distress call that terrorists in their numbers, on motorbikes, armed with AK 47 rifles, were sighted at Kahiyal, Bugaje village, Jibia Local Government Area on their way to commit their heinous activities.
Consequently, he said a combined team of Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit and vigilante arrived at the scene and engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel. 
He stressed that, in the process, the team successfully repelled the terrorists and neutralized two of them.
He explained that in the course of scanning the scene, one AK 47 rifle with three rounds of live ammunition was recovered.
 SP Gambo further said some of the terrorists escaped the scene with gun shot wounds and search parties were still combing the area with a view of arresting them.   
He announced that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Idrisu Dauda Dabban commended the efforts of the police and vigilante in repelling the terrorists.
He assured members of the public that the police would continue to deal decisively with recalcitrant terrorists until they are all brought to book and urged them to continue to cooperate with security agencies by giving out useful information on  criminals.
