Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has converted the newly established Divisional Police Headquarters Dandagoro in Batagarawa Local Government Area to zone 14 Headquarters of the force.
IGP Alkali Baba made the announcement when he officially commissioned the edifice, while promising to construct a new divisional headquarters in the state.
He said the new edifice was part of the efforts towards addressing security challenges in the state.
Inspector General Usman Alkali Baba charged people in the area to guard the project against vandalization.
The IGP explained that government is aware of the manpower shortage on the part of police in the country.
This he said, prompted the recruitment of 20,000 police which 10,000 have passed out.
Inspector General Baba promised that the remaining 10,000 would pass out and be posted to their various states before the forthcoming general elections.
He described the delays on the prosecution of suspected bandits standing trails before the courts to the agency in charge of criminal justice.
