Kaduna: Sorghum Farmers In Makarfi Set To Lead NIgeria’s Production

Sorghum  farmers in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State are set lead the state  in the  production of the crop otherwise known as Guinea Corn.

A leading a Sorghum farmer in the area, Alhaji Sani Umar  stated this at a Green Field Day held at Kwanar Tambai, along Gangara road on Tuesday.

Umar said that their efforts to lead is as a result of the quality seeds they use, which was produced by  Nagari Seed Nigeria Ltd.

The lead farmer  described the demonstration farm trial which was done between Nagari Seed and Sahel Consulting Nutrition and Agriculture from Netherland as a successful project.

Also speaking at the event, the Sarkin Makarfi, Alhaji Kabir Abdullahi Sada said that his subjects always welcome any project that will make their life better particularly in agriculture.

He advised farmers to utilize what they sow in their respective farmlands, for better production at the end of the farming season.

The farmers have declared  interest to embrace the new technology and  quality hybrid seeds on their farms.
