Governor Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State on Wednesday blamed the clashes between Farmers and Herdsmen in some parts of the country on climate change.
Speaking during an Agricultural Entrepreneurship Forum organised by National Students Association of Nigeria, Kebbi Chapter, Bagudu blamed the climate change as responsible for present clashes between Farmers and Herdsmen.
”Nothing in this country has forced Farmers and Herdsmen to clash or fight in some places in this country but, climate change”.
“Our task is now consider this change and provide our Fulani with grazing land that would their keep their sheep and cattle or otherwise feed,” he added.
He enjoined other state governments to consider changes of time to provide good grazing reserves for Fulani at their domains.
He also advised both Fulani and Herdsmen to avoid taking laws into their hands.
Earlier, President of the association told Governor Bagudu that they organised the forum meant to cushion out ways to minimize if not stop the clashes between Farmers and Herdsmen in the country.
