Gov Abubakar approves 2014/2015 bonuses for Wikki players, officials

Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi state has approved and directed the immediate release and payment of 2014 /2015 outstanding match bonuses of players and officials of the state owned football club, the Wikki Tourists.
According to the chairman of Wikki Tourists Football Club Bauchi, Hon Isa Matori, the government gesture to the club players is to encourage them perform marvelously in their engagements.
Media Officer of the football club, Usman Abbas Shehu has said in a statement in Bauchi  that Wikki emerged the fourth in the table of last premier league season, hence the need to further motivate them.
“The Bauchi State Government gesture to the Wikki Football Club players is meant to motivate, encourage and appreciate the Club team for their outstanding performance last season where the team emerged fourth on the league table”, Shehu said.
The Wikki FC Chairman disclosed that the outstanding ten match bonuses would be paid yesterday (Friday) before the team leaves for Katsina against El—Kanemi FC at Karkanda stadium, Katsina for the commencement of the 2015 /2016 League match.
Matori said that Governor Abubakar is determine and willing to invest much in the team so long as the club players will reciprocate the gesture by giving good results both at home and away matches.
The Chairmen therefore challenged the technical crew and the club to live upto expectations by justifying the confidence repose in them by the Governor and the sports loving people of Bauchi State.
Alhaji Isa Matori expressed the club’s appreciation to the government for bankrolling the ten outstanding match bonuses of the players, saying the gesture will motivation the team to start the new season on a good note.
He observed that the government is also working on other issues of the club’s management with a view to solving them soon, and called on stakeholders to partner with the management for better performance in the coming season.
