Continental Foundation has disbursed over 28 million Naira in form of cash and foodstuff as special intervention programme in Rimi Local Government area of Katsina State.
The gesture is intended at providing food to various categories of people to enable them fast with relative ease.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Chairman of Rimi Local Government Stakeholders Committee, Alhaji Salisu Mamman Kadandani alias Salisu Continental, said that the event is in continuation of humanitarian activities to bring succor to the people of the area.
Alhaji Salisu continental said as politicians and humanitarians, they have an obligation to invest to develop the economy and enhance the lives of the less privileged in the society.
He said the foundation under his leadership, has executed numerous projects that directly touch the lives of people at the grassroots.
Alhaji Salisu Continental cited the recent completion of a modern assembly hall, fully equipped with facilities for the conduct of many educational activities in the area.
According to him, schools and health centers in the area have witnessed rehabilitation with the money provided by his foundation.
He commended the state government for the execution of many developmental projects in Rimi Local Government Area.
Earlier, Permanent Secretary of the State Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Sani Umar Kadandani said that people of the area would continue to be grateful to Alhaji Salisu Continental for his kind gesture.
Also speaking, Rimi Head of Local Administration, Alhaji Hassan Iliyasu Dawana urged people to always support government’s programmes.
In a remark, the member representing the area at the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Sulaiman Korau said the state government has executed numerous projects, hence the need to elect the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates at the forthcoming local government election.
