A lady identified as Benifica Haruna was in the early hours of Wednesday, abducted by gunmen in Fadan Ikulu Chiefdom, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A source told New Nigerian that the kidnappers invaded the area and started shooting sporadically to scare people away around 12am.
The mother of the victim, Sarauniyan Ikulu, who confirmed the abduction, told New Nigerian that her daughter was in her room when they heard the gun shots by the kidnappers
According to the mother, “My daughter called me that she was going to hide somewhere in the house, unknown to us, we were their target. They (kidnappers) succeeded in taking my daughter away.”
She added that the kidnappers came on vehicles and motorcycles and freely operated for almost two hours without the intervention of security personnel.
She appealed to the security agencies to investigate the issue and ensured the whereabouts of her daughter is identified for her to be rescued back home.
She however, said that she had not received any information on her daughter from the kidnappers.
DSP Muhammed Jalige, the Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, could not respond to calls put on his phone on the incident.
