AGRA/NAERLS Kaduna Consortium Launches Zaria Maize Model Processing Centre

The Unguwar Alkali Zaria Maize Model Processing Centre has been launched by the AGRA Country Director, Dr. Kayinde Makinde in a grand style.

Speaking at the launching on Wednesday in Zaria City, he said that it is a milestone achievement by AGRA/NAERLS Kaduna Consortium Projects.

He encouraged the women group to make use of the center accordingly and maintain it properly.

According to him, the center is aimed at empowering women to have easy way of sustaining their livelihood.

In his remarks, the Director National Agricultural Extension Research and Liason Services (NAERLS), Prof. Emmanuel Ikani congratulated the beneficiaries for being the lucky one to have such project from the AGRA/NAERLS Kaduna Consortium Projects.

Represented by  Deputy Director of institute, Professor Sani Yusuf said, the institute will continue to partner with women groups for more engagement.

Prof. Ikani warned the beneficiaries to imbibe the spirit of maintenance culture to enjoy the benefits for a very long time.

Earlier in her remarks, the AGRA/NAERLS Kaduna Consortium Project Officer, Dr. Esther Ibrahim expressed  excitement over the launching of the center.

Dr. Ibrahim appealed to women who are the beneficiaries, to make sure they remain a united group to maintain the sustainability of the center.

After the launching, the team proceeded to visit  IITA, Premier Seed demonstration site and Kauran Juli Ware House Receipt and Aggregation Centre.
