The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Zaria Unit Command has presented N1,933,550.00m money recovered in an accident scene to the family of the victims.
Presenting the money in his office,c the FRSC Zaria Commander, Abdurrahaman Muhammad Yakasai said that the money was recovered during the rescue operations from the accident victims when the accident occurred along Kaduna -Zaria road last Sunday is for three people, two died and one is seriously injured.
Yakasai said the first person had in his possession, N900,141.505 00, the second person was with N563. 000.00, while the third who was injured, had N 456.000.00 in his possession, totalling N1,933.505.00m.
The FRSC Commander said, according to the driver who was coming from Dikko Market in Niger State, he was over speeding and overloaded when the accident occurred around Matrix Fertilizer Company.
According to him, the driver is safe and healthy, without any hurt and he is with Birnin Yero Police Station under detention.
Other items handed over to them included a bag of yam and some belongings of the dead.
Commander Yakasai advised people to avoid night travelling in order to avoid accidents.
All the passengers on board were heading to Mashi in Katsina State and they are family members.
The relatives who spoke in tears, said they didn’t expect anything as per money recovered or belongings from the accident, but commended the FRSC for the humanity displayed.
They prayed to Allah to guide, protect and give them more courage in their assigned duty and future endeavours.
