The sporadic shooting was said to have created panic at the farm settlement, with some of the farmers and farm handlers around fleeing into the near bushes to escape being kidnapped by the gunmen.

Some of the escaped farmers claimed the abductors escaped towards the Okeho, Itesiwaju Local Government axis of the farm settlement.

As at the time of sending this story, a team of Amotekun men, soldiers and policemen are said to be on the trail of the 10 gunmen since Saturday evening, were said to still be combing the  Okeho, Itesiwaju local government axis of the farm settlement.

Chairman of the Farm Settlement Association in the area, Mr Ade Adepoju, confirmed that the search teams were still busy combing the areas where the gunmen were said to have escaped into towards the Okeho forest.

”It is very unfortunate that this is now happening in our area, government asked us to farm and we are in the farm, the next thing is for kidnappers to snatch us like chicken”, he said.

Mr Adepoju added, ” those

kidnappers came with sophisticated weapons that our Amotekun men do not have, I salute the bravery of our security men because when they were pursuing the men in army camouflage, we could hear the difference in the fire power of the kidnappers as different from that of our local vigilante and Amotekun men.”
