While expressing delight that the entire measures to curb banditry in the state was successful, the Zamfara State Government has slammed former Governor of Sokoto State over what it described as irresponsible comments on the media.
Zamfara State Commissioner of Information, Honourable Ibrahim Dosara expressed this, while interacting with newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday September 30, 2021.
“I also want to react to a comment by ex Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa who made a comment on BBC this morning.
“He accused  the government of Zamfara of not doing its best in curbing the insecurity in the state,” he said.
Dosara told  Bafarawa to recall, that  he was not able to solve the problem of Shi’ites in his State when he was Governor of Sokoto, leading to loss of several lives.
“One of his relations was arrested for supplying bandits needs in Shinkafi LGA.
“I wonder someone whose sister’s son  is involved in banditry, cannot respect himself.
“He should be responsible by calling either Governor of Sokoto or Zamfara to advise them, not to go on the media,” he said.
The Commissioner also said that some politicians who do not wish Zamfara well, believing that they can only win elections in the state if the insecurity continues, sponsored fake news and reportage especially on social media.
“We also encountered problems with conflict entrepreneur who were sponsoring unverified and sensational reports on the action, despite that the government was firm in ensuring success.

“They lodged social media guys into hotels in Abuja and Kaduna from where they are sponsored to spread fake news.
“Such news are not true, they are unfounded.
