The involvement or participation of youth in the nation’s political process ahead of 2023 has described as a mirage that wouldn’t be realized soon because of the lack of purpose.

A youth who answered the call to actively participate in the electoral process, Anas Usman Dan Maliki said the average youth in the country don’t believe that they can bring changes in the polity

According to him, youth partake in the states of the federation, but  they fail to make any meaningful impact.

“Our youth in all the states are supposed to bring about the needed changes in the nation’s political landscape, but we failed and instead, we are following the older people who have not been providing any better leadership in the process ahead of 2023”

He  said he decamped from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to the newly formed  New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), hoping that there will be a change in the way and manner the politics is been conducted, but regretted that individual and personal interests have crippled the new political party in the states.

The young politician expressed fears that the party may suffer defeat in the state, “unless something urgent is done to restore people confident over the dramatic and controversial primaries conducted in Plateau State”.

According to him, Many supporters of the party in the state are disenchanted with the primaries conducted by the party before it was cancelled due to some technical reasons.

He expressed fears that some of them may not partake in the rescheduled  primaries of the party because of the fear of injustice.

Speaking on the insecurity in the country, their politicians expressed fears that what is currently happening is a bad signal for 2023 general election.
