Yobe Basketball Association Pays Working Visit To State Sports Council

The Chairman of the Yobe State Basketball Association, Alhaji Gambo Mamman, along with some members of the association yesterday, paid a working visit to the Yobe State Sports Council in Damaturu, the state capital.

During the visit, Alhaji Gambo Mamman expressed gratitude to the council for its consistent support and encouragement to the association whenever they organize events in the state, emphasizing that the council is a crucial sports hub.

He reiterated the association’s commitment to collaborating with the council for various sporting activities in the state.

Alhaji Gambo Mamman, a former Director of Sports, described the visit as a “homecoming,” symbolizing the strong bond between the association and the sports council.

As a gesture of appreciation, he presented tracksuits to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Social Development, and the Executive Director of the Yobe State Sports Council on behalf of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) President, Engr. Musa Kida.

In response, Mr. Paris, the Director Technical of the State Sports Council, welcomed the delegation from the Basketball Association Yobe State, acknowledging the deep-rooted relationship between the association and the sports council.

He assured the delegates of the council’s willingness to collaborate with the association and other sports organizations interested in partnering with them.

Mr. Paris, while representing the Executive Director, Dr. AbdulRaham Ago, highlighted the importance of continued cooperation, particularly in enhancing sporting facilities within the stadium.

Recognizing basketball as a significant sport in the state, known for producing national players for the federation, he emphasized the need for ongoing support and partnership.

The visit culminated in the presentation of a token of appreciation to the council by Alhaji Gambo Mamman, the chairman of the state basketball association and a group pictography.
