As the All Progressives Congress (APC), United Kingdom Chapter holds its Town hall conference over the weekend, the Director of the APC PCC Diaspora Directorate, Prince Ade Omole has assured Nigerians that the presidency of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu in Nigeria will change the terrain of the country in all ramifications.

In the highly attended town hall meeting organised by the APC UK Presidential Campaign Council under the leadership of Mr J K Adebola, various support groups domiciled in the UK came with their representatives, which added colour to the event.

Prince Ade Omole, who was the guest speaker at the event and was accompanied by the Diaspora Directorate Secretary, Lady Ifeoma Nwankwo, asked everyone in the Diaspora to take the advantage of the event to get involved in the campaign by either their physical presence to vote at the elections in Nigeria in 2023 or to encourage their family and friends in Nigeria to vote Tinubu/Shettima and APC.

In his speech titled, Who Is A Leader? The Asiwaju Examples, Omole extols the exemplary leadership qualities of the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and described Asiwaju as a leader of a rare gem.

“By chronicling this Life of Service, you would then be saying that because Asiwaju has very glaring, incredible pieces of evidence of his superlative accomplishments, it therefore goes without saying that a better Nigeria is indeed possible under his leadership. And at the end of it all, we would be saying the same thing but in different words.”

“Also equally important to mention here is the fact it was because of that leadership seed that a foreign student, which Asiwaju was in Canada, dared to run for the headship of the Accounting students body, most, if not just about all, were American students. This speaks about a man imbued with greatness from the Almighty”.

“My next example of who a leader truly is can also be explained in “Diary of a Debacle: Tracking Nigeria’s Failed Democratic Transition (1988-1994).” This is a book written by Professor Olatunji Dare. For those of us who may not know him a quick citation will suffice here. Prof. Dare is a communication scholar and Professor of Communication, Emeritus, at Bradley University in Peoria, the State of Illinois in the United States. He was a Chair of The Guardian Editorial Board and a central figure in Chief MKO Abiola’s ill-fated Presidential bid who had to go underground in the aftermath of the June 12 annulment. Not only that, but he was also at the epicentre of subsequent events that cascaded from the June 12 annulment. So, we can see that from this brief description, Prof. Dare is a pro-democracy activist and a public intellectual”

Besides Omole, other speakers took turns to reinstate their commitment to the campaign urging Nigerians to see the opportunity as a golden one that must not be missed. APC UK PCC Chairman, Mr J K Adebola added that the support groups should do everything humanly possible to ensure a landslide victory for Tinubu/Shettima and APC at all levels in the coming elections to make governance easy for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, according to him, there is no “if he wins but when he wins,” but he warns against complacency and advised all support groups to take the campaign to all nook and crannies of the Country where the real voters reside and galvanise them to vote for Tinubu/Shettima and APC.

Also the Secretary to Diaspora Directorate, Lady Ifeoma ‘Iyabode’ Nwankwo urged everyone to support the aspiration of Tinubu, saying a win for him is a win for all. She described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a detribalised Nigerian whose aspiration has garnered support all over the country.

The event in London was held at the same time the APC South-South Women and Youths Rally was being held in Calabar and the APC National Campaign Was underway in Lagos.

The mammoth crowds at each event are indicative of a good omen for Tinubu/Shettima and APC at the polls in 2023.
