Unguwar Rimi Death: Kaduna Community embraces peace – Opinion leader …victim buried

A highly respected leader in Unguwar Rimi, community located within Kaduna metropolis, Honourable Sule Wada has informed that the anxiety that engulfed the area on Sunday, resulting from the death of a teenager who was stabbed to death by his friend also a teenager, has been successfully controlled without degenerating into a free for all fight.
Speaking exclusively to our correspondent on phone, he said that though he is still hearing rumours of reprisal attacks from friends of the victim, elders in the community, the vigilante group of the community and the Police has teamed up in quelling such agitations.
“On Sunday night, up till 1:00am, we were busy ensuring that the situation does not escalate and we are happy with the success recorded,” he said.
The well respected Community Leader said that their efforts saw to the arrest of the mastermind of the conflict as well as the accused, who are all presently in police custody.
He said that though when the father of the victim learnt of the incident, he was greatly troubled, his condition has improved
tremendously after leaders of the community paid him a condolence visit.
He praised the combined efforts of the police and the vigilante for keeping the area under control, while adding that the patrols are still ongoing.
“The victim has since been buried around 8:30am according to Islamic injunctions,” Wada who was a former councilor added.
