Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai of Kaduna State, on Thursday called on states to take the issues of sports development seriously.
He stated this, when the Minister of Youth and Sports, Honourable Solomon Dalong and commissioners were in Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on a courtesy visit in Kaduna.
According to the Governor, Kaduna state, sports men and women have made them proud in the development of sports sector.
He commended the minister and commissioners of state who has chosen Kaduna as the venue for their council meeting and also their effort and investments towards developing sporting activities.
He urged them to put more effort in promoting sports in the state, and prayed for save trip to their various destination.
In a remark, the Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalong, said they were in Kaduna to hold their periodic meeting and discuss issues that will move the country forward.
He described Governor Nasir Ahmad ElRufai as a lover of sport who is interested in improving sporting facilities.
He noted that, the country challenges are unemployment, this he added, has reflected in the lives of youth and cause social ills among youths in the country.
He urged the state government to accommodate the youths, by creating more jobs through sporting activities in the state.
He commended state government for honoring them. And expressed that, Kaduna state is a state that accommodate indigenes and non indigenes.
