JNI Vows To Support, Unity, Stability Of Nigeria



Jama’atu Nasril Islam {JNI) has pledged its resolve to ensure and support the unity and stability of the country especially as it prepares for the 2019 general elections.
This statement was made by the Secretary of Kaduna State Chapter of JNI, Alhaji Ibrahim Kufena, when a team of journalists led by the Chairman of the Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists paid JNI a courtesy call.
Alhaji Kufena said it has become necessary to promote peace and religious tolerance as all, regardless of tribe, culture or religion, belong to one and the same nation.
“Whether Christian, Muslim or traditionalist, we are first of all Nigerians and belong to Nigeria. The JNI and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) are like a set of twin, so it behoves on these bodies to channel a way forward for the country. I recommend and know that these religious bodies will always work together for the good interest of the country”, he explained.
The NUJ chairman accompanied by the Council Secretary, Alhaji Dauda Idris Doka and Council Assistant Secretary, Mr. Jacob Zango explained that the visit was to officially invite the JNI to the council’s monthly platform aimed at ensuing peaceful coexistence among the people in the state and the country in general.
” Like I mentioned earlier, we are approaching 2019 elections and the NUJ believes we are partners in progress and as part of our social responsibility, to ensure that relevant stakeholders shed more light on issues that will promote peace and bring positive development of the society “, he added.
He urged both religious bodies to continue to remain apolitical and more committed to ensuring peace and unity among their followers.
Present at the Kaduna State Chapter Secretariat of JNI during the visit was Alhaji Salish Abdullahi,, Chairman Kaduna South Local Government and Abdullahi Ibrahim, State Clerk and Secretary Kaduna North Local Government of JNI.
