Support Makinde, New CPS Urges Correspondents’ Chapel Members

Says journalists will be given  necessary recognition .

The newly appointed Chief Press Secretary, (CPS) to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr Sulaimon Olanrewaju  on Thursday, solicited support of journalists in Oyo State for the second term administration of Governor Makinde.

Mr Olanrewaju stated this while speaking in Ibadan during his visit to the Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo State council Secretariat at Ago Tapa, Mokola.

According to the Chief Press Secretary,  journalists in the state would be given the necessary recognition to do their job without hindrances, 

Mr Sulaimon pointed out that  journalists support for the present government in the state would go a long way in its bid to achieve its aims. 

” I want to assure you that every recognition that is due for you will be given to you. I cannot forget you. I have served as chapel chairman and a member of the state council of NUJ. I know the importance of the Correspondents’ chapel”, he said 

The CPS added, “I am a unionist like you. I am representing you in government and I am representing the government in your midst”

Emphasizing that his appointment as CPS would encourage and priotise the welfare of the members of the Correspondents’ chapel and other journalists in the state, he said as a unionist, he will always defend the interest of journalists in the state. 

Receiving the CPS and his team, the Chairman of the  Correspondents’ chapel, Comrade Adebayo Raji lauded the new CPS for the visit to the Chapel describing the visit as a sign of good things to come. 

“It is a sing of new things to come. You assumed office yesterday and you are visiting s today. The first of its kind in the last four years .We are here to partner with you, and we will support Gov Seyi Makinde administration”. 

Mr Olanrewaju was accompanied to the Correspondents’ Chapel for by Bose Sodiq, the former Special Assistant (Broadcast) to the governor.
