The Borno State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended four members, including a state executive member, the ward chairman of Old Maiduguri, the ward secretary of Old Maiduguri, and a ward executive member, for trading food palliatives approved by Zulum for vulnerable families.
Ali Kaka, Adam Ajiya, Mala Mohammed, and Usman Bukar, who are currently in the custody of the Nigerian Police CID, are accused of selling the palliatives token, which allows families to benefit from the governor’s intervention, for personal gains.
According to a statement released by Borno’s APC secretary, the four executive members should remain suspended pending the outcome of the party’s disciplinary committee investigation.
The statement quoted the party secretary as saying, “The State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Borno State Chapter, in its meeting held on March 10, 2024, unanimously suspended a state exco member and three others as executive members of the party for gross misconduct.”
The statement continued, “This decision has been made in accordance with the provisions of Article 21 of the party’s Constitution.”
