Security Operatives, Communities Rescue Victims From Kidnappers Victims In Giwa LGA

Security opratives and members of communities at Hayin Gada, Shika in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State have rescued three kidnapped victims and  arrested one kidnapper.
Narrating how the situation occurred, one of the victims said he left his duty post at NAPRI Shika around 11.00pm on reaching home, unknown to him, they were following him and his son who was also back at that time.

He said that he quickly closed the door as they tried to open it, before going ahead to break window and entered the house.

According to the source who sought anonymity, the terrorists were six in number but met the resistance of security operatives who were already stationed at all the routes they were using after their operations in the area.


“After they succeeded in taking them from their house, they were intercepted st Tawatsu Village and after exchange of gun fire from both sides, discovering that they were in danger, they left us and ran away but one was trapped and arrested by hundreds of people who came to rescue us from all the villages around,” the source narrated.


The source further said that all the six kidnappers are Fulani’s and were between the ages of 18 to 20 and were handling AK47 raffles.

“They took them on two motorcycles, while the other one is following,” a source added.


Those kidnapped and later rescued are Danladi Katung a staff of NAPRI, his daughter Anan Danladi and Sunday Jacob a generator operator in NAPRI Shika.


The victims have expressed appreciation to the security operatives and the communities who risked their lives to face the deadly criminals and saved them unhurt, stressing that they said they remain grateful.

Giwa Local Government Area has been witnessing an increase in terrorist activities, including kidnapping and banditry.
