Professor Rabi’u Adamu of the Institute of Agricultural Research, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, has been elected as the President of Entomological Society of Nigeria (ESN) at the Annual General Business meeting of the Society held at the University of Uyo.
The Zaria-born Professor of Insects Scientist was made a Fellow of the Entomological Society of Nigeria, during the 51st Annual conference of the Society
Accordingly, the society is made up 1020 members drawn from Universities, Colleges Education, .Polytechnics, Federal Ministry of Health, Agriculture , Environment and Agrochemicals and allied industries in Nigeria.
In his congratulatory message to the new President of ESN the Executive Director, Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) Samaru, Zaria, Professor Muhammad Faguji Ishiyaku expressed his happiness with investiture into the exalted Fellowship of the Entomological Society of Nigeria (FESN).
Professor Faguji Ishiyaku said the election of Prof Rabi’u Adamu as the President of ESN is yet another historical milestone for IAR-Faculty of Agriculture and the larger Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria-Nigeria Family.
He pray to God to give the new President of ESN the strength, wisdom, courage and good health to raise the worth of ESN in the world community of Insect Scientists to an unprecedented heights.
