In an interview with some of the voters like Mrs. Madu Uchenna, Mrs Ikechukwu Maria, Mr Godson Elecharanya, Jonas Chibuike, among others, who narrated their experience, stated that the INEC officials arrived around 11:00am which delayed the normal voting.

They further stated that voting process was not fast as expected, since they didn’t come on time.

They further encouraged other voters to remain steadfast and ensure that they vote before leaving the venue.

Meanwhile, security agencies ranging from Police, Army, Immigration, Civil Defence, etc were on patrol to ensure security of lives and property across the state.

It would be recalled that Governor David Umahi on Friday, after meeting with security agencies in the state, called for peaceful election  and therefore, ordered security operatives to arrest anybody that will cause violence during the election.

Governor Umahi further instructed that no security officer should be seen accompanying politicians nor seen close to the polling unit.
