Katsina State Government has procured and distributed over 377 transformers to some communities in the State to enhance power supply.
Special Adviser to Governor Governor Aminu Bello Masari on Power and Energy, Engineer Mansir Musa Bakori disclosed this to Newsmen in Katsina.
Engineer Musa Bakori said additional 70 transformers were on the way to the state to ensure adequate supply of power to people of the state.
Engineer Bakori said Governor Aminu Bello Masari has established the Department to address inadequacy associated to the distribution of power in the State.
He explained that, the present State administration has connected over one hundred and eighty villages and communities with electricity.
He said in Katsina Local Government alone, the administration has executed inter-town and town distribution network to over five communities of Lambun Dan-Lawan, Shola quarters, Dutsin-safe and Tudun Matawalle among others. He said under the Federal Government’s five million homes got access to solar energy project adding that about five million and sixty two thousand communities in the State would be connected with solar energy.
Engineer Mansir Musa Bakori also spoke on the Lambar Rimi Wind Mill project saying that, efforts are on to make the project workable.
He called on the beneficiaries of the state Government intervention on power to guard all projects done to them against vandalization.
