Plateau Lawmaker, Sunnah Hospital Partner Surgeons  To Provide Free Medical Outreach

Over three hundred people are to benefit from free medical outreach courtesy of a partnership between member representing Jos North-North Constituency, Ibrahim Baba-Hassan and other stakeholders.

The gesture according to the member representing Jos North-North Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) standard flag bearer of the Jos North Bassa Federal House of Representatives in 2023 general election, aimed at bringing succour to indigent members of the society,  is in collaboration with Sunnah Hospital and Northern Nigeria Surgeons.

The free medical outreach is currently holding at the Sunnah Hospital Ungwan Rimi in Jos North Local Government Area.

The doctors  drawn from Plateau, Bauchi, Jigawa, Gombe, Katsina, Borno, Sokoto, Yobe, Kaduna and  Adamawa states, are on ground attending to different ailments affecting the people.

Addressing beneficiaries, sponsor, Ibrahim Baba Hassan said the decision to embark on the free medical outreach is necessitated by the need to provide  healthcare services to the people at the grassroots, especially the indigent, who are not financially  stable to take care of their medical needs.

Baba Hassan explained that the inhabitants of Jos North Local Government Area are very dear to his heart, hence the need to partner the medical experts in conjunction with Sunnah Hospital to provide succour to the people.

The lawmaker further noted that similar gesture will be extended to other parts of Jos North and Bassa local government areas.

He informed people of his constituency of the readiness to work closely with the people at the grassroots to understand their needs and look for possible ways of mitigating their plight.

Councilor representing Ungwan Rogo /Rimi Ward, Suleiman Sultan who could not hide his joy over the gesture, appreciated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency for coming to the aid of his people

Adam Musa who spoke on behalf  of the management of Sunnah Hospital, expressed gratitude to Ibrahim Baba Hassan for his understanding to partner with the management to minimize the medical challenges of citizens.

Head of the medical team, Abdulbasi Umar, explained that the doctors were assembled from all parts of Northern Nigeria with aim of alleviating the plight of the people, noting that his team will perform hernia and hysterectomy repairs, as well as appendicitis surgery among other diseases.

Doctor Umar appreciated Ibrahim Baba Hassan and the management of Sunnah Hospital for the partnership and for providing them with the enabling environment to carry out the surgeries. 

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to  Ibrahim Baba Hassan and the management of Sunnah Hospital as well as the medical team for coming to their aid.

As at the time of filling  this report, over one hundred and twenty patients were screened different for  surgical operations.
