As part of measures to strengthen the understanding of the leaders of Kaduna Open Government Partnership (OGP), on the State Action Plan III (SAP III) implementation milestones, the Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn ( PERL), recently organised a technical session for representatives of both Civil Societies and Government.
The session, amongst other things was aimed at strengthening and deepening the understanding of the State OGP Steering Committee and Technical Working Groups on the Commitment Areas and the implementation of their set milestones.
It also sought strengthening synergy between government and civil society organizations for the successful implementation of SAP III and also increase awareness on the Strategic Vision of SAP III.
Speaking during the meeting, Kaduna State Team lead of PERL, Abel Adejor, emphasized the need for the Steering Committee to sustain the milestones implementation approach for accurate results.
He urged them to always be proactive in their approach and ensure they continue to seek for collaborations with government and other donors to support the effective implementation of SAP III.
Adejor, noted that PERL is glad to support the steering committee and Technical working groups to understand State Action Plan III Commitment Areas and to deepen the implementation of the set milestones.
“PERL supported the development of SAP I, SAP II and SAP III and also aided the achievement of specific milestones key to its goals and objectives. PERL has equally supported the creation of accountability mechanism in Kaduna State.” He added.
In his remarks, CS Co-Chair of Kaduna OGP, Mubarak Abdulganiyi, while appreciating PERL for organising the meeting and continuous support to OGP in Kaduna State, said the supports has been instrumental in equipping members with requisite knowledge and tools to enhance their collective proficiency in making government accountable.
“As we forge ahead, it is crucial that we uphold the principle of accountability, keeping a steadfast watch to ensure that value for our money remains a guiding tenet in all our endeavors.” Mubarak, noted.
The Co-Chair emphasized the imperative of collaboration within the Technical Working Group (TWG), stressing the paramount importance of working hand in hand to realize the ambitious goals set forth in SAP III.
