The Kaduna State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  has condemned  the recent merciless killing of 17 and 52 people in Birnin Gwari and Kaura local government areas respectively by daredevil criminals.
This was contained in a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Abraham Alberah Catoh, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday September 30, 2021.
“With the frequency of unabated killings, kidnapping and other heinous crimes happening in the state, there is no gain saying that the Nasir el-Rufai APC-led government lacks the ability to bring the situation to an end.
“It is rather unfortunate that in spite of the huge amount of money the Kaduna State Government claim to be spending on security monthly, the insecurity in the state is continuously on the increase and getting out of hand, despite repeated assurances by government to be on top of the situation,” it said.
PDP said that owing to this, the people are currently in a state of hopelessness, as the flow of blood is rising, with tears  drying up from their eyes.
“In the face of the apparent failure to arrest the security challenges, we advise the government on the need for complete reassessment of what governance is all about with a view to finding a lasting solution.
“We commiserate with the immediate families of the victims of these unprecedented but avoidable losses, as well as the good people of the state who are daily traumatised by the insecurity presently bedevilling the state,” it said.
The opposition party reiterated the need for the security agencies to rise up to the occasion to nip the situation in the bud, so as to redeem their image before the eyes of the public.
“As bleak as the situation looks, we call on the people of the state to be vigilant and support the security agencies in tackling the challenges,” it concluded..
