Oyo Govt Will Build Airport In Oke Ogun To Boost IGR – Commissioner

As part of its efforts at boosting its Internally Generated Revenue, Oyo State

Government has disclosed that plans are on to build an airport in the Oke -Ogun zone of the state .
This was made known by the state 
Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Professor Musbau Babatunde on Monday in Saki while addressing critical stakeholders at a forum organized by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
The Commissioner declared that the stakeholders forum is put in place  to educate the people of Oke Ogun on the State’s 20years Development Plan.
Professor Babatunde maintained that the establishment of the planned airport in Oke Ogun area of Oyo state would go a long a way in boosting the Internally Generated Revenue of the state among others
The Commissioner while unveiling the state development plan said the 5years short term plan would aid the actualization of the long term plan for attainment of Oyo growth’s emancipation, adding thatOyo state has enough fund to ensure that the plans are actualised.

Speaking, the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Economic Planning, Gbenga Oyekola disclosed that the  short, medium and long term plans are developed to ensure that abandoned projects that funds have been earmarked for might be strategically channeled to other beneficial projects”. 
Permanent -Secretary, Oyo state Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs  Mofoluke Adebiyi, while welcoming the stakeholders pointed out that the 20 – year – plan was an integral blueprint that pitch Oyo state to enviable heights. 
Chairman of Saki West local Government Area, Sarafadeen Omirinde said there is the need for people to express their views at the stakeholders meeting.
The Chairman urged the Oyo state government to erect adequate street-lights in other region of Oke-Ogun area so as to ensure reduction of crimes and criminality to the barest minimum. 
The event christened “Stakeholders Engagement and Validation Meeting on Oyo State 2040 and Medium Term Plan 2021-2025” has been touring major parts of the state and attended by royal fathers, traditional rulers, civil society groups, community leaders, trade associations among other stakeholders.
