A former Minister for Transport and Aviation, Chief Ebenzer Babatope, OFR, on Tuesday sent a congratulatory message to the new Olubadan elect, Oba Lekan Balogun.
A statement by the Personal Assistant to Chief Babatope, Mr. Odeyemi Samuel described the new Olubadan as a Pan Africanist during his days as a student in London.
According to the foremost Awoist, Chief Ebenzer Babatope, Oba Lekan Balogun , who is also a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has been his close associate for over 50 years.
Chief Babatope noted that people like Obi Egbuna, Dr. David Ogunsade and Douglas Rogers were inspired by the great Freedom fighter Osajiefo Kwame Nkruma of Ghana during his days
While joining the Ibadan people and the entire people of Oyo state to wish him a successful reign, the former Minister assured that the ancient city of Ibadan will witness an unprecedented development under the new Oba.
Describing the new Olubadan as a Leader and an author of high repute, he recalled that one of the books written by Oba Lekan Balogun, “Nigeria; the people must decide” will remain a documentary source book in the history of Nigeria.
