Our Successes Made Possible By Peaceful Co-existence Of Religious Adherents – Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has tasked the various religious groups in the state to continue to maintain  peace in and across the state 

Speaking at the 10th Omituntun Annual Ramadan Lecture and anniversary awards, held at the Government House Arcade, Agodi, Ibadan, on Saturday, the governor appreciated the various religious groups in the state for their peaceful co-existence.

According to the governor, the successes already recorded by his administration were without doubt as a result of the abiding peace in the state.

Gov Makinde pointed out that with the continuous sustainance of peace, Oyo State would continue to record progress, adding that the inner road projects his government recently embarked on would spread across Ibadan and the state at large, Gov Makinde pledged more support for the propagation of Islam by donating buses to Islamic bodies, Makinde 

The Chief Imam of Offa, Kwara State, Sheikh Muheedeen Salimon in his Ramadan lecture emphasized the need for the people to be prayerful, grateful, appreciative and imbibe the act of giving cheerfully to the needy. 

Lauding Gov Makinde for being God-fearing and prayerful, Sheik Salimon urged him to remain steadfast in doing that which is right, saying his exceptional success as a governor is tied to doing what is right.

In their goodwill messages the Chairman of the event, Alhaji Yekini Adeojo and the Omituntun Annual Ramadan Lecture Organising Committee chairman, Alhaji Akeem Azeez while commending  Gov Makinde,  described him as a God-fearing leader who accommodates everybody, irrespective of religious differences.

Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal in his vote of thanks, appreciated the support and cooperation enjoyed by the present administration from the Muslim community, sought for more prayers and support for the government.
