The Ebonyi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has said that it has arrested two suspects conveying adulterated petroleum products along the Transaharan Highway, popularly known as  Ogoja–Abakaliki Road on Sunday morning with a heavy duty vehicle.

The command made this known on Tuesday, while parading the two suspects at their permanent office, along Abakaliki– Enugu  Express way.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Engr. Felix Gbolade while addressing journalists, said  that the two suspects were intercepted along Ogoja-Abakaliki highway  and could not explain the content of the product they were conveying to another state.

Engr. Gbolade further noted that the Anti vandal Department team intercepted the truck loaded with 18,000 litres of (AGO) automotive gas oil also known as diesel on transit from Enugu State to Abakaliki.

He stated that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as  investigation is concluded  to determine how many offenses they have committed, noting that the command will confirm and authenticate what they conveyed from the NNPC depot, adding that NSCDC has zero tolerance to theft and adulteration of PMS.

The commandant appealed to other security agencies and the general public to cooperate with them, since security is everybody’s business.
