New Executive Of Non Indigenous Nigeria Elders Forum Emerges In  Jigawa

The newly elected state executive of Non Indigenous Nigeria Elders Forum, Jigawa Chapter have unanimously pledged to support Jigawa Peace Initiative.

 The chairman of the election panel, Chief Eze Igodo  stated  this shortly after declaring Alh. Garba Wakili as the duly elected president of the forum at the state library complex in Dutse.

Igodo stated that,  “we the non indigenes  of Jigawa State are living comfortably with the state government for  years, peacefully  enjoying its peace Initiatives as we’re moving on with our businesses in a more conducive atmosphere”.

He charged the newly elected officers of the union to be tolerant to one another and carry everyone along in fostering peaceful co-existence.

” We can only achieve if we can come together. Therefore, we must try to be tolerant of each other in respect of ethnicity and religious barrier, as well as  shower love to one another for the sake of peace and unity,” he added.

He commended Governor Badaru for his  continuous support and understanding for the progress and promotion of the union’s activities, saying  that, “we couldn’t have reached where we are today, without the support of the Jigawa State Government.”

Wakili emerged after scoring 44 votes  against his opponent,  Mr. Siyanbola Oyedeleo who scored 36. 

Other winners are,  Mr. Odeyemi Markus  who was elected unopposed for the position of Vice President and Mr. Ozobo Kenneth who scored 43 votes to beat his opponent, Mr. Charly Abimikudu with 38 votes to clinch  the position of General Secretary.

Treasurer, Mr Edidem Previous  scored 69  against his opponent, Mr. Patrick Him with 12 votes.

 Financial Secretary, Mr. Egbeleagu Kingsley, Assistant  General Secretary,  Malam Sarafuddeen Babalola Tunde, while Sani Abdul Mummuni, and Otobo David Awhubaire emerged PRO 1 and 2 respectively.

In his post election speech, Barrister  Garba Wakili thanked all those that made it possible for the actualization of the peaceful conduct of their free and fair elections which was held at the Dutse Library Complex.

He assured of running a transparent administration with listening ears. 

He also solicited  cooperation and useful advise in moving the association forward.

The Dutse Chapter of the Non Indigenous Nigeria Elders Forum has been in existence in Dutse for the past sixteen years with over one thousand card carrying members, rendering communal initiatives in different format with the sole aim of complementing Jigawa State Government in uplifting the living standards of the masses for progress and development.
