New CP In Akwa Ibom Reads Riot Act To Criminals

The new Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, CP Adeyemi Samuel has advised criminal elements in the state to repent, warning that tough times await them if they chose to continue in crime.
CP Samuel who stated this in his maiden press briefing at the Command Headquarters in Ikot Akpan-Abia, Uyo, the state capital declared that there would be no hiding place for criminals in the state.
He said, “Let me therefore warn that tough time awaits criminal elements in the state. The Command will make it difficult for you to succeed. We shall pursue you and bring you to justice.”
The Commissioner who said that his vision is to make Akwa Ibom state the safest state in the country, explained that he has reviewed the existing security architecture to ensure success with the view to making Akwa Ibom the first destination of choice for tourists and investors in Nigeria.
To this end, he said, “The Command, under my watch will be guided by three core principles of: integrity, professionalism, and quality service delivery.”
According to him, the Command would beam its searchlights at heinous crime such as kidnapping, cultism, armed robbery, rape and murder while community policing and respect for human rights would be at its best.
He assured that the command would assist government to create enabling environment for the industralisation drive of the state as well constructive engagement of youths for greater Akwa Ibom State.
CP Samuel called on people of the state to continue to support and collaborate with the police to weed off criminal element from the state.
