NASS Committee On Aviation Visits NCAT  Over Alleged Attempt To Remove  Facilities

The National Assembly Committee on Aviation  has visited Zaria to find out the alleged attempt of relocating the training simulator equipments at Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria.

The committee is headed by Hon. Sulaiman Yahaya Richifa, Deputy Vice Chairman’s House Committee on Aviation and member representing Soba  Federal Constituency of Kaduna State.

Engineer Sulaiman Yahaya Richifa explained that the aim of the fact finding physical visit is to investigate the allegations of the relocation of fire simulator and training equipment to other parts of the country.

He explained that the federal government has spent huge sums  of money to ensure sustainability in the pioneer Aviation College Zaria to meet global standards.

Engineer Sulaiman Yahaya Richifa pointed out that the National Assembly remains committed to supporting the improvement of the aviation industry to achieve desired objective.

Hon. Richifa commended the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Zaria for  commitment and dedication in carrying out their mandate.

in a welcome address, the acting Rector Nigerian College of Aviation Zaria, Mr Joseph Shaka Imanukwe debunked the rumours that the fire simulator and training equipment would be relocated to other parts of the country.

Mr  Shaka expressed hope that the national Assembly will be convinced that there is no plan to relocate fire simulator and training equipment.

He stressed the need for the National Assembly to look into some challenges facing the college to assist in competing favourably with other international colleges to meet global standard.

It would be recalled that some months ago, prominent citizens from the North alleged that plans are under way to relocate fire simulator and training equipment aimed at sabotaging the pioneer aviation college, Zaria.
